Stephanie grew up with a pencil in her hand. Not
to write, but to draw.
Her
passion for art has led her down many paths. Stephanie
got her start in the graphic design industry at
the age of 16 by doing technical drawings for a
General Motors contractor, quickly learning that
the stiff lines and colorless renderings of the
technical field did not suit her, she started doing
commercial sign design.
After
18 years of sign design, Stephanie needed a change
and that change came in the form of the Internet.
“I
have always been the type that wants to build what
I design. I love to be able to create something
and then put it into action. Working on the Internet
opened up new opportunities to me and really renewed
my passion for design.”
After
a two years of web design for a Brighton firm, hard
economic conditions forced the company to close
its doors and forced Stephanie back into the field
of Commercial Sign Design full time.
“It
was a blessing in disguise. I believe that we are
all put on this Earth with a talent and a purpose
and it took stepping back from sign design for a
bit to make me realize what my talent and purpose
is. I always loved designing signs but getting away
from it truly put my career…my life, into
perspective. I was meant to design signs.”
